- My favorite medium of expression is Sumi-e painting. I refer to Japanese brush painting as immediate gratification art. I paint very large and use a lot of color.

- My students are in High School grades 9-12. They represent the mix of New York City and the surrounding communities. My students circumstances are all unique. They share in common an enthusiasm to create art. I am new to the school and my students made me feel like I have always belonged there. They inspire me.
- Description of the Town or City My Students Come From:
- My students come from all areas of New York City and the surrounding suburbs. The school is located in the NYC borough of Queens. The area has easy city transportation and shopping that you can walk to. The neighborhood houses are on large lots. The area is very green with lawns and trees. We also have a wooded park nearby.
