Hello Marek and students! Greetings from Harlem!
Thank you for your thoughtful comments on our pieces
We have enjoyed discovering your students art work as well. We were struck by how present nature is in all the pictures. Meadows, farms , forests and lots of animals too.
We live in the city and experience nature mostly in Central Park and small community gardens. Trees here grow out of the sidewalk and the students very rarely get to experience true country life.
We loved the depiction of old stone buildings and castles. Here in New York City buildings can be very big and tall but your buildings are much older. There was a lot of detail in all your pictures that really gave us the feeling of being in close touch with your culture. It was very interesting to see all the depictions of cemeteries and to learn about how you celebrate All Saints Day in Poland.
The students were surprised to see how many holidays we share despite the fact that you live on another continent. They enjoyed reading the artist description sheets and discovering how much we all have in common and how small our planet is in some ways. We are also amazed at how fluent and good your English is. Very impressive, if only our Polish could be as good!
You asked about Double Dutch.
This is how you play it:First you have to have two ropes and two turners.Then you can have 1 or 2 people jump in the rope at 1 time. When the right rope goes up you jump in. These are some tricks: Criss cross, mumble, type writter, pop up,scissors and around the world.You jump alternating your feet and follow the beat for as long as you can. We love playing it during recess on the Street. Since our school is in 3 small buildings on opposite sides of 129th Street in Harlem we have special permission by the city to close the street for traffic during the day and use it to run and play.

Hi! Greetings from the US!
My students made many very interesting observations.
They have found that the world is very small.
From the drawings they saw that your country celebrates many of the same holidays and seasons we do here in the US. They loved learning that you have the same traditions...Christmas, Midnight Mass, and simple outside activities.
It also looks like many students live outside of the city. We enjoyed seeing the quiet country life and the nature.
We live in an urban environment. Most students don't get out of the city too often.
The students were very interested in the drawings that showed castles.
They were very surprised to see them.
I explained to my students that your country is older than ours.
So you would have castles from long ago.
The students first thought the castles were about fairy tales!
Once they read the descriptions on the back of the art they realized that this is something your students see.
My students loved looking at all the art work.
They have learned that students all over the world live very similar lives.
They liked reading the descriptions on the back of the pictures because it gave them a small window on your everyday life. They learned no matter where you live students their age have similar interests.
